Not Since Foot Binding

Alexander McQueen declares war on women's feet:

mcqueen1

mcqueen2

mcqueen4

Watch these starved lizard women walk in McQueen's Cremaster-esque show here. (If you're looking for a tumble, you'll be sorely dismayed to discover that all remain awkwardly upright.)

The hoof shoe! But how does it stay on? That slender ankle in the first photo is positively *swimming* in it (doesn't look like the buckles on the side are much use).

what makes them so lovely is their incredible practicality!

I love an impractically beautiful shoe, but those look like some kind of extinct creature is gnawing off the models' feet. Not pretty, not attractive, not flattering. No.

These shoes creep me the hell out. I don't care for anything that would render me useless in the case of a surprise attack, an oil spill, or having to step on the bus.

I kind of like the second pair....

You have to give the man some credit, no one has really redesigned the shape of the heel in decades.

Good grief, it looks like their twiggy little legs are going to snap off at the ankle! For crying out loud, would MEN put up with stupidity like this??? Women are flesh and bone, not silly-putty for fashion designers!
